Kaavya Krishna Kumar, PhDCells constantly interpret and respond to environmental cues, and G protein–coupled receptors (GPCRs) are central to this process. The Krishna Kumar lab investigates how GPCRs sense external signals and integrate multiple pathways to produce context-dependent cellular outcomes. Using structural biology, biophysical methods, chemical biology, and protein engineering, we examine how receptor conformations, protein assemblies, and ligand diversity shape signaling specificity. Our goal is to uncover the molecular principles of receptor modulation and apply these insights to design chemical probes and therapeutic strategies that selectively control signaling across physiological and disease contexts.
