Research in the Gross lab is focused in two main areas: (1) chemical mechanisms of cell signaling by reactive molecules, particularly nitric oxide, and (2) application of untargeted mass spectrometry-based metabolite profiling technologies for untargeted discovery of metabolic changes that comprehensively define disease states, drug actions and the system-wide consequences of gene mutations.
