Quality control of individual subcellular organelles is emerging as a new paradigm, the failure of which leads to various human diseases such as cancer and neurodegeneration. Research in the An lab focuses on understanding how subcellular organelles maintain their quality and proteome dynamics under normal physiology and pathological states. We use multidisciplinary strategies encompassing chemical biology, cell biology, and proteomics to address these biological questions.
