photoThe Campbell lab investigates transcriptional mechanisms in pathogenic bacteria and viruses, focusing on Mycobacterium tuberculosis and SARS-CoV-2. Through chemical biology approaches, our work advances understanding and develops therapeutic strategies. In Mycobacterium tuberculosis, we explore RNA polymerase as a target for novel inhibitors, while our SARS-CoV-2 research focuses on RNA synthesis and viral replication. By leveraging structural biology, mass spectrometry, and biochemical assays, we aim to uncover new drug targets and deepen insights into the molecular basis of gene expression and replication, driving innovative approaches in chemical and structural biology.
