Education

PhD, 1984, Mount Sinai School of Medicine

BS, 1973, Brooklyn College, NY

Research Topics

  • Bioactive Small Molecules
    • Chemical methodology
    • High-throughput screening assays
    • Chemical probe development
  • Macromolecular Structure and Function
    • Mass spectrometry
  • Chemical Cell Biology
    • Chemical genetics
    • Proteomics
    • Metabolomics

photoResearch in the Gross lab is focused in two main areas: (1) chemical mechanisms of cell signaling by reactive molecules, particularly nitric oxide, and (2) application of untargeted mass spectrometry-based metabolite profiling technologies for untargeted discovery of metabolic changes that comprehensively define disease states, drug actions and the system-wide consequences of gene mutations.
